New H — Claimable Now
An Open Letter To Our Community

We Chose Not To
Walk Away.

Earlier this year, an exploit shook this project to its core. The months since have been the hardest in our history - and how we handled them deserved better. Here is the full account, and the recovery we are asking you to be part of.

The Road To Recovery

Four Steps, No Spin

01

The Exploit

Earlier this year, our protocol was exploited - and the damage was severe. We will not minimize it: this calamity has been really tough on the project, and even tougher on the people who held H when it happened. Some of the blame for what was lost belongs to us - the gaps that existed were ours to close, and we accept that.

02

The Silence

We apologize for the lack of proper communication since the exploit. In the hardest weeks, we went quiet when we should have been talking - and that silence left this community alone with questions we should have been answering. That failure is separate from the exploit itself, and we are sorry for it in its own right.

03

The Decision

After everything, we made a choice: we will not wind down. Walking away would have been the easiest path - and the most dishonorable one. Instead, we have spent this time building a solution that befits the whole community rather than the easiest one for us.

04

The Compensation

H is being relaunched as a new token on Ethereum - a new contract, with better security updates throughout. The new H is being distributed as a compensation fund to the entire Humanity community, with every allocation calculated at about 30 percent of the whole tokens you lost in the exploit.

The Compensation Fund
30%
Of the whole tokens you lost — returned as new H
Holding the old version of H? We advise you to sell off the old token and claim the new version of H on the new contract. The old token carries the wounds of the exploit - the new one carries the recovery.

We know this allocation does not cover everything you lost. We implore you to accept it as a humble apology - and to help us rebuild H, and return it to where it belongs.
